Powdered mix for making DIY seitan
Ingredients for making seitan:
- a pack of Homemade Seitan Mix
- 640 ml water
preparation:
Pour the contents of the bag into a bowl.
Add water
Knead well until smooth.
Cut into small pieces or slices.
**We use gloves to work with the seitan dough because it is sticky, occasionally you can wet your hands a little.
Heat a deep non-stick frying pan with a third of boiling water. If the pan is not large enough, prepare in a few batches. The pieces will double in size as they absorb liquid, so it is important to leave some space between them.
Place the seitan pieces and make sure the water does not cover them. Place a lid on top and let them cook for about 15 minutes. Remove the lid and let some of the remaining liquid evaporate so that the pieces are not spongy.
